Multiplier Event Berlin

Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin organised the first international multiplier event for DIONE on 9 December 2022 with an accompanying programme from December 5 to 8. We invited over 40 colleagues from our long-term partner universities in the Western Balkans and associated partners in the project: From the University of Tirana, the University of Montenegro, the University of Prishtina and the University of Sarajevo.

The multiplier meeting aimed at disseminating and maximising the impact of the intellectual outputs of the project. The focus was on introducing and explaining our concept of micro-collaborations. And once again it turned out to be an innovative and energising idea.

The Multiplier Meeting was aimed at everyone who is involved in the organisation or implementation of teaching in general and transnational teaching cooperation at the university in particular. So we welcomed several vice-deans for teaching or international relations, no less than three heads of the international offices and colleagues from various faculties, including law, economics, biotechnology, maritime studies, philosophy, and philology.

Programme
10:00 – 11:30Presentation of the project, the intellectual outputs and the concept of micro-collaboration
12:00 – 13:30Challenges and solutions for micro-collaborations in international teaching cooperation
14:30 – 18:00Hands-on workshop: Planning micro-collaborations

During the workshop, the colleagues planned a micro-collaboration together with an international partner. This helped them to deepen their understanding of the concept of micro-collaboration. The task was to reflect on the difficulties that the respective institutions might face. We thus also thoroughly reviewed the concept once again, benefited from our partners’ particular perspective and experience and thus are able to design the project results in a way that is even more appropriate for our target group.

At the same time, we used the whole week to bring colleagues together with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin‘s decision-makers in the international field to better manage ongoing projects, initiate new collaborations (including micro-collaborations) and broaden existing ones. Our guest met with the international office of the faculty of languages, literatures and humanities, the heads of global mobility and Humboldt international campus at the central international office, the coordinator of Erasmsu+ mobilities with partner countries and various colleagues from different faculties. We have thus linked the Western Balkan universities even better with the HU.

In addition, the colleagues also got to know each other. Especially at the workshop session, where they had to plan cross-university micro-collaborations themselves, new professional connections were found. And of course we also strengthened personal relationships during Christmas market visits, tours of the university and nice evenings together.
